Creating & Caring for Gardens
O U R P A S S I O N
Nowhere but in New England is the change of seasons more pronounced. Moon Garden Designs enjoys highlighting every season of the garden to connect and expand your home into the outdoors. Planting for enjoyment of each season gives you year-round pleasure from your home whether you are watching the spring bulbs emerge after a long winter, relaxing on a summer evening after work on your patio surrounded by the garden's evening fragrances, harvesting sun ripe tomatoes & fresh grown basil for your dinner, walking through your garden on a colorful fall afternoon, or enjoying the winter structure and silhouettes from your window and warmth of your home.

MGD is dedicated to using organic and sustainable land care practices to sustain the health of the ecosystem and people that enjoy it. In nature, ecosystems sustain themselves with no intervention. We try to replicate this relationship in our landscapes. When assistance is needed, e.g., soil amendments, renewable and organic materials are preferred. Organically managed landscapes are designed to protect the diversity of the land and it’s surroundings – plants, wildlife habitats, people and pets.

Once a year, the MGD team donate their time and services to a not-for-profit organization in need of gardening services. Most recently, we designed and built a sensory butterfly garden at Perkins School for the Blind in Watertown, MA. Previously, we volunteered at the Virginia Thurston Healing Garden in Harvard, MA, which provides a community of support, therapeutic services, and education to facilitate healing for those experiencing cancer.
The garden looks great!! It was wonderful having our back yard overtaken with your enthusiastic and thoughtful crew. We are going to get tremendous pleasure from this now...what a difference! The planting of the bed feels like a healing gift that we gave ourselves and came just at the right time. It's a secret backyard garden that offers promise of growth and beauty in a peaceful spot. Thank you again to your crew and for your patience with the details. Your attentive approach to the project enhances the experience.
